Rising Damp Control
The problem of rising damp can arise for various reasons - the failure of an existing damp proof course (dpc), bridging due to the raising of external ground or internal floor levels, or in older buildings, the complete absence of a damp proof course.
The result of rising dampness often leads to unsightly tide marks and staining to the plaster and decorative finishes, hygroscopic salt contamination, and occasionally may lead to the decay of floor timbers, particularly within older properties where timbers are unprotected and constructed into the wall structure.
