Hartfield Road - Forest Row - Wall Tie Replacement and Masonry Repairs
The property is a semi-detached house situated in the village of Forest Row, East Sussex.
The front and side elevations are exposed to the weather and there were visual indications of corrosion and expansion occurring to the original wall ties.
In addition to the wall tie corrosion, there was noticeable movement occurring to several of the masonry arches.
Our works specification allowed for the installation of new replacement stainless steel wall ties to all areas of the front and side elevations. These new ties were epoxy resin boned to both the inner and outer leafs of brickwork. The original wall ties were located and isolated using Clansleeves to prevent further corrosion and expansion.
To repair and strengthen the failing masonry arches, we installed Helibeams into the mortar joints across the top and CemTies vertically through the base of the arch. All repairs works were carried out in accordance with Helifix guidelines and recommendations.
