High Street, Fletching - Basement Waterproofing
This basement is one of a pair and is slightly lower than the neighbouring basement.

The basement had been 'tanked' with a poorly applied cementitious system. This had failed due to poor preparation, keying incompatible and unsuitable materials.
When Cavitytech arrived there was approximately 25mm of water on the floor. To make matters worse, a covenant existed between this and the neighbours house where this basement was to allow the drainage of the neighbouring basement.
The drainage had been blocked by the cementitious tanking and there was more water in the neighbouring basement which did not please the neighbour!
The existing slab was found to be in good condition.
Cavitytech installed Newton Basedrain to the perimeter connected to a Titon sump chamber containing one NP400 pump and one NP150 pump as back up. We re-connected the neighbouring basement, linking this with the Basedrain.
Newton System 500 was laid to the floor, this was overlaid with 12.5mm insulation and moisture resistant chipboard. The walls were lined with Newton System 500 followed by a Gypliner batten system.
As you can see from the photographs, a wet and unusable basement (which was causing problems to it's neighbour) has been transformed into a habitable room.
